The Prince's Trust Celebrate Success Awards

The Prince's Trust Celebrate Success Awards

8th September, 2016

Celebrate Success is The Prince’s Trust annual recognition Awards series celebrating young people who have changed their lives. This flagship event honours young people’s success in the areas of education, skills development, employment, enterprise and community.

Titanic Quarter Ltd has worked with the Prince’s Trust for the past nine years, helping to nurture and inspire a future generation who share our vision to revitalise Belfast and make it a hub for new opportunities.  Around 18,000 people already live, work and study in Titanic Quarter, many in knowledge sectors such as media, ICT, finance and life sciences.  The task of creating future jobs and wealth begins with today’s generation, and that’s why we’re proud to support the Prince’s Trust.

Titanic Quarter was delighted to sponsor and present this year's Young Ambassador of the Year Award to Ryan Shaw:

Ryan’s teenage years were full of instability and hardships which left him feeling dejected and unsupported.

The Jobs and Benefits Office signposted him to Team where his eyes were opened to a world of new opportunities. He later enrolled on Make Your Mark, where he gained clear career direction and a temporary placement within Marks & Spencer. When the placement ended, Ryan began volunteering in The Prince’s Trust offices and also became a Prince’s Trust Young Ambassador. This is where Ryan really came into his own.

Able to adapt to a range of audiences, Ryan spoke at various events confidently sharing his story and explaining how The Trust’s work had made a difference to his life. He made such a strong impact at a TK Maxx fundraiser, they offered a job; he has been working there ever since.

Happier and more positive about his future, Ryan finally has the stability he needed.
